Picking up equipment yourself saves the delivery fee, but only if your truck can handle it. Here is what to check before you come in.
Our trailers and what they haul
| Trailer | Ball | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| 5×10 utility with ramp | 2″ | Trenchers, stump grinders, power buggies, tillers |
| 6×12 | 2″ | Stand-on skid steers like the MT100 |
| 12 ft ramp trailer (5,000 lb) | Ask us | Compact equipment |
| 16 ft equipment trailer (10,000 lb) | 2 5/16″ | Mini excavators and full-size skid steers |
| 7×14 dump trailer | Ask us | Dirt, gravel, debris |
Ball does not match? Rent a hitch in 1 7/8″, 2″ or 2 5/16″.
What your truck needs
- A tow rating that covers the trailer plus the machine. Check your owner’s manual or the sticker in the door jamb. A mini excavator or full-size skid steer on our 16 ft trailer needs a 3/4-ton truck or larger.
- A hitch and receiver rated for the load, not just the right ball size.
- Working trailer lights.
- A brake controller for the dump trailer. It has electric brakes. Our other trailers use hydraulic surge brakes, which do not need a controller.
We check your setup at the counter every time. If something does not match, we will tell you before you leave the lot, not after.
Roughly how heavy is the machine?
- Bobcat E10: about 2,600 lb
- Bobcat MT100: about 3,400 lb
- Bobcat E35: about 7,900 lb
- Bobcat T66-2: about 8,700 lb
- Bobcat E48: about 9,800 lb
Add the trailer weight, plus buckets and attachments, and that is what you are pulling.
Driving with a load
- We load and chain down machines at our yard. Check the chains again after the first few miles.
- Leave extra stopping distance and take turns wide.
- Dump trailers get heavy fast. A load of wet dirt or broken concrete can be over the limit before it looks full.
Or let us bring it
Delivery is round trip on our own trucks, 7 days a week. For machines and trailers it starts at $85 within 45 minutes of our Hamburg yard. Lifts, telehandlers and towables have their own rates. See all delivery rates. For the bigger machines, delivery is often the easier call.
Not sure which one fits your job? Call the counter at (810) 231-7368. We are open 7 days and happy to talk it through.
